Recorded in 1998 and 1999. Here are some samples of what you'll hear.
Step It Out Mary (356K wave file; 33 seconds of music) is the most upbeat song about suicide that we know. In this one, we sing our "instrumental" interlude.
The Cruel Sea (882K wave file; 41 seconds of music) is one of our originals. Devery wrote the words and Lloyd provided melodic inspiration and building materials.
Blood and Gold (234K wave file; 22 seconds of music) was written by Andy Irvine and Jane Cassidy, and we heard it by June Tabor and Maddy Pryor (Silly Sisters). What we've included here, however, is the extra verse that Lloyd and Devery wrote.
Donald MacGillavry (341K wave file; 32 seconds of music) is a cover of Silly Wizard's version. On our CD, Blood and Gold segues into Donald MacGillavry by way of a segment of "Flowers of the Forest" on the bagpipes (played by Lloyd).
Mick McGilligan's Daughter (339K wave file; 32 seconds of music) is one we have a lot of fun with. It's not true barbershop, but we always get a lot of harmonies from the Celtic Choir.
